Your child turns the pages. TaleMe reads the story.
Put an iPhone on a stand and open a real picture book. TaleMe reads each page aloud and can ask your child a question about it.
Coming to iPhone, by invitation at first. Requires iOS 26.
A real book, read together
-
Reads aloud
I read picture books aloud as your child turns the pages.
-
Talk about the story
I chat with your child about what's happening on the page.
-
Private by design
Your child’s voice stays on the phone. We don’t keep photos of the book or the words of your child’s answers, and they aren’t used to train AI. No ads, no tracking.
-
Try it free
30 minutes of free reading time, then you can purchase more.
How to
-
Set up your phone
- Use a flat table, ideally one plain color with little clutter.
- Put your phone in landscape on the stand, about 11 in (28 cm) above the table, tilted about 45° down.
- Place the book in the middle of what the camera sees.
-
Enjoy the story
- I start reading once I see the book.
- Use voice commands such as “next page”, “read again”, “stop reading” or “keep going”.
- Talk with me by voice, or point at the book.
-
Camera and microphone
- I need the camera to see the book, and the microphone to hear voice commands.
- Your phone will ask you to allow each one.
For parents
A parent or guardian sets TaleMe up and agrees to its terms before the camera or microphone is used. The narration is written by AI from photos of the page, so it may misread a word or describe something differently from the book. It isn’t a substitute for an adult reading with your child, so please stay nearby.
